Royal Honda and the Yorkton United Football Club partnered up for a great cause. The partnership began in late 2017 and continued until September 2018. The YUFC wanted to raise funds towards building a new indoor soccer or football arena. Club membership is growing rapidly in Yorkton and the surrounding area, and it was only a matter of time before the need for an indoor arena became apparent. The soccer club brainstormed ways to fundraise for their new arena and decided to host a raffle. What raffle items would gain the most attention and publicity? YUFC came up with the idea to giveaway a car, Royal Honda was on board and soon a partnership formed!

The car to be raffled off was a 2018 Honda Civic. To make it stand out, it got some custom decaling including the YUFC logo on the hood and a big soccer ball on each side! On the rear window, we added Royal Honda's logo as well as the Yorkton Lions Club logo. The decaling was eye catching and drew plenty of attention while on display in different locations throughout Yorkton.

The 2018 Honda Civic was admired at many Yorkton locations and events such as the Yorkton Gallagher Center, Spring Expo, Outdoors Show, the local fair and was even seen cruising during a local parade! Lots tickets were sold, and everyone was excited to see who was going to win the car.

The five finalists were drawn right at Royal Honda. After the initial draw, the finalists gathered at the Gallagher Centre where the winner would be announced… Each finalist was asked to pick a silver box with a key in it. Then, each finalist came up - one by one - to push the panic button with their key. The winning key activated the panic alarm in the car. The first contestant to try her key was Janice and she ended up being the lucky winner! She was invited to come celebrate during the Lions Club's Taste of Yorkton - Wine, Beer, Spirits Tasting Festival 2018. The week after Janice got to drive her new Civic home. She even decided to keep the soccer ball decal on the car. Congratulations, Janice and thanks to everyone who participated in the Civic Draw!
