The term 'All-New' gets thrown about in the auto industry but the 2016 Civic Sedan is a clean sheet design. From the ground up every aspect of the vehicle was redesigned. New styling was introduced with a sporty front fascia, fastback design and wheels pushed more towards the corners. The new Civic is 1.2 inches longer and nearly 2 inches wider giving it a more aggressive stance and contributing to more interior space. An overall more rigid, lightweight and tightly sealed body has earned it a 5 Star rating and a IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+.

The all-new 174-hp, 1.5L DOHC Turbo engine available on the Touring is providing unprecedented levels of power. Check out this video of the new Civic versus the old Civic Si:

Now keep in mind we have not even seen the new Civic Si or Type R models (making a return to North America!).

The All-New Civic would not be a Honda without the engineering to back it up. Some of the new safety features include:

• Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS): To help reduce the likelihood of a frontal impact, the available CMBS is engineered to apply the brakes if you don't slow down when it senses you are at risk of a collision. If it still senses an imminent collision, CMBS is designed to brake firmly.
• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): The available ACC is designed to keep a set speed and following interval behind a vehicle detected ahead of you, including the ability to start and stop the vehicle with the flow of traffic.
• Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Engineered to gently correct your steering when you begin to leave a detected lane without signalling, applying torque progressively to the steering to help guide you back to the centre of the lane.
• Road Departure Mitigation (RDM): Designed to help steer and even apply the brakes when necessary to help keep the vehicle from leaving the road.
• Lane Departure Warning (LWD): Designed to monitor vehicle lane position and alert you when your vehicle drifts into a new lane when you haven't signalled.
• Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Working in tandem with the CMBS it detects the presence of vehicles in front of you and issues alerts if you are approaching with too much speed. If you fail to respond to the alerts, the CMBS is triggered into operation.
